Unlike a conventional multimeter that only measures resistance, the ET6638 evaluates the key electrical characteristics that determine injector performance, including inductance, capacitance, resistance, and impedance. It can automatically identify both traditional coil injectors and modern piezo injectors, making it suitable for petrol and diesel applications.

For a mechanic, the real value is being able to compare injectors against each other. A vehicle may have an injector that is electrically different from the others even though it still measures the "correct" resistance on a standard meter. The ET6638 can store and compare results from up to 8 injectors simultaneously, making it easy to identify an injector that is beginning to fail or is outside normal specifications.
